Outlook 2000 Email Configuration

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click Tools in toolbar and select Accounts

  3. Click on Mail tab, click Add --> select Mail

  4. Enter your name as you want it to appear in the From field when people receive your email.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your primary email address you would like to use. If you have email through MediaTech Productions, use the email address supplied to you here.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Make sure “My incoming mail server is a…” has POP3 selected in the dropdown box.
  9. In the “Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) server” box enter: mail.mediatechproductions.com

  10. In the “Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server” box enter: mail.mediatechproductions.com
  11. Click Next

  12. In the Account Name box enter: your_email_address
    1. i.e. If your email address is webmaster@mediatechproductions.com you would enter “webmaster@mediatechproductions.com” without the quotation marks.

  13. In the Password box enter: your supplied password
    1. If you have forgotten your password, please contact MediaTech Webmaster at webmaster@mediatechproductions.com or 970.224.5911 to be supplied with a new one.
  14. Make sure “Remember Password” box is checked.
  15. Click Next
  16. Choose how you connect to the Internet from radio button selections.
    1. If you connect to the Internet through a phone line and modem, choose first option.
    2. If you connect through a company or home network, choose second option.
    3. This screen may not always appear, if not, click Finish.

  17. Click Next
  18. Click Finish

  19. Select your newly created email account in the still open Accounts window and choose Properties.
    **Note: The new account will have a name of mail.mediatechproductions.com**

  20. Click the Servers tab
  21. At the bottom, right above the “Outgoing Mail Server” section:
    1. Uncheck “Log on using Secure Password Authentication” if checked already

  22. At the bottom, in the “Outgoing Mail Server” section:
    1. Check “My server requires Authentication” if not checked already
    2. Click Settings
    3. Make sure “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is the radio button selected.

    4. Click OK
  23. Click Apply in Properties window

  24. Click OK in Properties window
  25. Click Close in Accounts window
  26. Click “Send/Receive” in the toolbar to receive your email.
